Dr Hilary Plant

Registered Integrative Psychotherapist

Welcome, thank you for viewing my webpage. I do appreciate that seeking help can be both a hopeful and an anxiety-provoking step to take. By seeking assistance through a supportive and confidential therapeutic relationship I hope that you will find a way of facing the issues that concern you and discover a way forward to have a more fulfilling relationship with yourself and those around you.

I provide a safe, secure space to talk about, explore and understand emotional responses to the complex and sometimes difficult issues that life may bring, both past and present. Warmth, compassion and a trusting relationship create the opportunity to make sense of, and attend to, troubling experiences, thus enabling a more emotionally flexible, responsive and enjoyable life.

I have expertise in working with people with cancer and other long-term conditions and their families, providing support to think through the potential emotional challenges and changes that ill health may bring for both the patient and the wider family. This enables coping and adapting to living as well as possible in changed circumstances. I am also skilled in facilitating self-management strategies for people with chronic health conditions.

My training enables me to draw on a range of therapeutic approaches and is informed by my experience as a therapist and over 40 year of working in the NHS in a variety of roles. I provide both short-term and longer-term therapy.

Please do be in touch and we can meet for an initial appointment to see if we can work together.
